Today's prompt is "Today was amusing because ____." It was not amusing at all.
It is now 1:09 a.m. here. Yesterday I woke up around 9, and did my morning routine, including taking my glucose test. My sugar was 150! That's the lowest it's been! I'm almost within the range with 130 being the maximum, that my Dr. set out for me. I had 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast and took my medications. I was slow moving, but I finally made it to the shower. Caleb left the water turned to burning hot, so I had to be careful. I have not fixed the shower water knob, so it's hard to change the temperature without a tool. Anyway, I managed to get clean without having too much of a problem. I got dressed after laying on my bed and cooling off and drying off in front of the fan.
I had an appointment in Wilmington at the orthotics store in the early afternoon. I made a huge salad before we had to leave, and ate some for lunch. We left on time to go to my appointment. It was sunny and warm outside, and I was glad I chose to wear shorts and a tank top. I got there early and had to wait in the Mazda until it was time for my appointment. The appointment was short. My measurements were taken last year, and nothing has changed. Because of the diabetic shoes, compression socks, custom insoles, and lift , I am able to walk and stand without pain in my hips, lower back, and feet. So my custom insoles and lifts were ordered, and that's all we had to do.
I called Billy, but he didn't answer his phone.
I called Fayetteville Travel Pay office at the VA, and spoke with someone about not receiving my travel pay payments. She said they recently changed their system, and they were behind. They were as far back as November.
I called the IRS again, hoping to find my way to reach a person who could tell me more about what is going on with my refund. I did not get any further than I did the day before.
We left to go home, and stopped at Arby's for a snack. I had jalapeƱo bites, and Caleb had mozzarella sticks. While there, I called Special Agent Herring at the Ft. Bragg CID office to follow up on my case. I am choosing to proceed with an investigation into what happened and getting to the point of being able to press charges.
I went home a different way than usual because Caleb had a medication ready for pickup at the pharmacy. We picked up the medication and I ran into my favorite pharmacy tech. I told her I would love to catch her when she is not working, and gave her my phone number to text me. I think I have a new friend.
On the way home, my temporary crown popped up. I immediately called the dental office and made arrangements to come in right away. I had just got within 15 miles of home, coming back home from Wilmington. Now I had to go back. I had to use the bathroom badly, so I stopped at Lowe's Foods to use the bathroom. While there, I realized I still had another appointment by phone to go to. I was tired, and did not exactly have alot of gas in the Mazda. I called the dental office again and asked if there was an over the counter option to keep my crown on that I could use. They suggested Dent-temp from Walmart. I could not find it at Lowe's Foods and was not about to drive all the way back to Walmart just for one thing. So I bought what I thought would be ok.
On the way home, my temporary crown came all the way off. I held it in my hand as I drove home. When I got home and parked the Mazda, I tried to figure out how to put it back in. Upon pressing it down, I broke the damned thing! Fuck! So I called the dental office again and let them know. I had to ask if I would be able to eat without it. She said yes, bit it would be uncomfortable and to eat on the other side of my mouth.
I got inside, and decided to eat some more salad as I waited for my MST coordinator phone call. Dinner was ready and smelled good. It was broccoli and chicken in the crock pot. The MST coordinator called and the appointment was very short. I thought I would have to talk about what happened, but I didn't. She was just there to ask me about services available , if I would like to participate in one or more of them.
After the call was over, I was ready for dinner. I had some broccoli and chicken, and for some reason, it was delicious! I'm glad. Caleb like it too, which made me happy.
I took my medications and made sure everybody was taken care of. I made sure Bella was fed dinner, and that Caleb ate dinner. I gave Caleb his medication for the night. I went to lay down, but my stomach felt too empty for me to get comfortable. I got up and had to eat more.
I forgot to mention that I felt like putting on some eye makeup, since that is all that can be seen with a mask on. I did not do a good job, and after I was done, I came to sit at the kitchen table. I had just made the salad not much earlier, and I guess the red onion fumes were still in the air because both my eyes were burning!
I also brushed my teeth with that Colgate Optic White Renewal toothpaste that is supposed to be able to take away 10 years of stains. Well, it was day 3 and not much of a difference has been made. My teeth are never going to be optic white. I guess I just have to deal with it.
I took my iron pill and orange juice earlier when I got up the first time. I need to make another water drink.
I do not have any appointments today. I do have to cancel my doTerra subscription before it renews, and I have to call Verizon and dispute charges again. I have so many books waiting for me to read! I also have a kitchen that needs cleaning. Caleb found about 11 pairs of socks, so I want to wash them along with my mattress protector (all white laundry) and bleach them in one load together. I want to get Caleb to pick up the trash in the living room and put the couch back to together. I do not understand why he has to be so destructive.
My mom has suggested that I deposit the stimulus check I received, and file an amended tax return. I might have to do that if the IRS does not deposit my direct deposit soon. I don't want to do that, but I will if I have no choice. I am broke and living on credit cards.
