Today's prompt is " Do you make enough money?" The answer to that is a definite "NO!"
It is now 3:35 a.m. here. Yesterday was a good day. I was able to maneuver around someone who wanted the job of picking up my junk, but then didn't want to communicate with me on workday. So, I went back to the drawing board to find someone reputable. I asked the "Oak Island locals" page on facebook. First reponse with "Junkluggers," so I gave them a call. They were able to make a same-day appointment and get the job done of removing all this broken furniture from the living room and porch. I was able to get rid of the sofa, a broken reclining chair, a broken coffee table, and a broken rocker from the porch. I was able to get rid of the broken reclining chair from the living room. I was able to get rid of the broken lawn chair from the back yard. It was a reason to celebrate! It was New Year's Day, and we finally got someone to take care of hauling away this junk! It's been here since... July? Not to mention, this was made possible by Aunt Lisa.
As if that wasn't enough, I was too excited to sit at home, so we went out. I went and put gas in the Mazda, went to Walmart for groceries, and went to CVS for refills. It was alot to do.
I am just so happy! I can't believe the work is actually done and over with! I was so worried for so long that the Town was going to fine me for the mess on my porch. Now I don't have to worry anymore! It's done. It's finally taken care of. Whew! What a relief!
Caleb made us hot dogs for dinner. I love my new taste for hot dogs with yellow mustard, prepared horseradish, and deli style relish.
Today is Saturday, and we have been requested to go to Wilmington for lunch. We will just hang out and watch a movie at a friend's house. We are not planning on doing much today.
Now, once we get back to working on the house, we will have to go through my dad's stuff on the porch to make sure nothing important gets thrown away. We will have to clean up the trash from the living room floor, and shop vac, pet vac, and carpet clean. I can't wait to be able to say I have all this stuff done.
Caleb woke up when I came out to the computer, so he is awake and watching stuff on his computer. Bella was sleeping with him in the living room.
So, back to the book I am reading. Let's see, we stopped at Chapter 3.
I answered "Yes" to the following questions:
"I turn to substances or other addictions when..." (for me, it is overeating and food)
I am overwhelmed by emotions, whether mine or another's.
I am in emotional pain and feel frustrated, anxious, or depressed.
My feelings are hurt.
I feel uncomfortable in my own skin.
I feel emotionally unsafe in a situation.
I feel criticized, blamed, or rejected.
I feel shy, anxious, or don't fit in socially.
I'm tired and need an energy boost.
I feel drained by energy vampires.
I want to escape and shut out the world.
"Answering yes to six or more of the statements indicates you are largely coping with your sensitivities by engaging in addictive behavior."
Dr. Orloff refers her readers to 12-step programs. Mine would be Overeaters Anonymous (OA).
I answered "Yes" to the following questions:
Do you overeat when you are emotionally overwhelmed?
Do you turn to sugar, carbs, and junk food to self-soothe?
Are you highly sensitive to the effect food has on your body?
Do you feel energized by healthy, clean food?
"Answering four to six of the questions indicates you have moderate tendencies toward being a food empath."
Dr. Orloff gives us "Ten Guidelines for the Empathetic Eater" as follows:
Breathe the stress out of your body.
Drink water.
Limit your sugar intake.
Eat protein.
Don't let your blood- sugar level drop.
Eat lots of vegetables.
Healthy fats are good for you.
Limit you caffeine intake.
Eat for energy.
Get tested for food allergies.
And that wraps it up for chapter 3.
Now to take my iron pill and orange juice, and move on to the next thing on my list of to-do's.
