5 Year Journal Day 194

Today's prompt is "______ is perfect." Nothing is perfect.

It is 5:07 a.m. here. So, I did not get around to posting yesterday. I started working on my financial reports, and the time got away from me. Let's see. The day before yesterday, Tuesday, wasn't all that great. I woke up up around 3:30 a.m. and stayed awake until after 7. I finally went to bed, only to have to wake up an hour later to use the bathroom. I then went back to back again, only to have Caleb wake me up several times in the morning because he wanted screen time on his phone. Yoga was at 10:30 a.m. I went to group, but I  did not stay the entire. I wanted to vape more than  wanted to yoga, so I left early.

Dr. Gellman made up a new rule, that everyone must be visible from the waste up. Well, it just so happens, that I don't have the space for that. I was the only one who couldn't make that happen. It frustrated me because she knew that I couldn't do it, because we ran into that problem last time.

I was tired. I was sluggish. I did manage to get the dishwasher started. Caleb refused to take his medication, then refused to do any chores. My day was not easy. I made taco fajitas for dinner.

Wednesday was a bit different. I woke up around 6 something, and stayed awake. I worked on my financial reports for a few hours. We both took our medications. I decided we needed to go to Harris Teeter because of the sale that had just started for the week. We ended up driving to Wilmington first to have lunch at the Chinese Buffet first. We got there early, around 11:50 a.m., and everything was fresh. It was sooo good. Then, on the way back to Harris Teeter, we stopped to offer a homeless man some soup and a drink. He said he was "good on that." So, we drove away to our next destination.

Harris Teeter had Progresso soups on sale, buy one, get one free! They also had stew beef on sale buy one get one free, as well as chuck roast buy one get one free. They had oranges, limes, and apples on sale. I had an idea that I needed fruit and spices for.

When we got back home, I began making a simmer pot. It was made with 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 lime, and 1 lemon, as well as 2 cinnamon sticks, alot of cinnamon powder, nutmeg, and whole cloves. I then added a full pot of water and stirred it up and boiled it. Later, I went looking through the cabinet to see if there  were any bay leaves. There were some in the cabinet. I used all I had, plus I found some almond extract, vanilla extract, and whole allspice, and also added powdered ginger, and fresh ginger root to the pot.

It smelled delicious, and added humidity to the air which I really need. Caleb and I drank some of it  after it brewed for a few hours. It was lemon strong, but still good.

I got the idea from a lady in a group I belong to, who posted a photo of her own simmer pot. Such a great idea! I use to just boil cinnamon in water, but this was fun! And we actually drank some! And it helped my nose to not be so dry.

That was yesterday in a nutshell.

Today Caleb has an appointment in occupational therapy. I have to go buy a phone charging cable. I forgot to buy one when we went to Walmart to buy groceries.

So, according to my financial reports:

In January, I will have only 2 more years of payments on my van.
My TransUnion credit score needs work, and is not as good as it was in February, but my Experian and Equifax credit scores are better than they were in February.
My credit card balance total (debt) has decreased by $907.23 since February.
My available credit has increased by $3,488.87 since February.
Some of my credit card usage has been repurposed, as in I was able to pay a credit card off, only to have to use another card for a different purpose.
I will have my bed paid off in 4 months, and will have taken full advantage of the interest-free period.
I will pay the window unit air conditioner off in 2 months, but I will still have payments on the carpet cleaner to make.

I am making slow, but steady progress. Paying off my debt will help me in my everyday struggles to pay for groceries and gas. I am making a plan to create a financial safety net for emergency use. Yesterday, I applied for a consolidation loan that may lead to me getting a better interest rate on my debts. I do not know if I will get the loan. I have a call later today to see what can be done. I am praying that it works out, because it would really help me make progress more quickly.

I only applied because I received a letter in the mail saying I was pre-qualified. If I can get cash in my account, I can have this old furniture hauled away and clear up some much needed space inside the house. I can have my toilet's wax ring replaced. I can have the shower water knob replaced. I might be able to have the cabinet under the kitchen sink removed, and maybe even replaced. I might be able to have my kitchen floor replaced. I might be able to do the rest of the long list of things I need to have done to fix the house!

Yesterday was also Rachel's birthday! I made a video of me singing "Happy Birthday" to her and text it to her.

Today, we are also going to bring Donna and her kids a gift bag.

One of the packages I mailed out was received with delight! I surprised them with one peppermint and one cherry candy cane for each child, along with sending a necklace I bought on impulse, and upon receiving, knew I would not wear. There is a second package going to someone else with the same thing in it, that should be delivered today. Aunt Lisa's box will hopefully be delivered today too. I can't wait for her to open it!

I still have some Christmas shopping to do, but not much. I don't have much to give, unfortunately. I have to make sure I get things sent out before it's too late. I wanted to buy more presents, but I am not going to kill myself trying to buy things that I can not afford.

Shannon's birthday is coming up on the 11th. I don't want to forget it.

Next week, I have my hematology appointment. Bella has her heart worm shot appointment. WE have to go pick up food at the food distribution site. Caleb has his occupational therapy appointment. Shannon's birthday is Friday.

I wonder what my hematologist will find out. I am curious to know the results already.

It was actually cold outside yesterday. I wore a hoodie when we went out. It warmed up later in the day, and I had to take it off. It is cold outside right now. There is frost on the Mazda!

I am still trying to catch up on house cleaning, but I feel like it will never happen. I have most of the dishes washed though. I need to work on the laundry today and tomorrow.

I need to drive the Volvo. Maybe now that it's cold outside I can drive it without overheating myself.

I bought a couple of new house plants while at Food Lion the other day. One is a table top Christmas tree for Caleb to decorate, and the other is a fern. My whole house will be filled with green plants by the time I am done!

I've got some things I have to do. It is now 7:03 a.m. here.
